Tyler Perry auditions for secretary job
Tyler Perry has been interviewing for a secretary’s job for nearly three years, a new report said.
Perry will not be the first to apply for the position, which requires an applicant to have no more than a bachelor’s degree, but it is the first time the job has been filled by someone from outside the Beltway, the Associated Press reported Friday.
Perry has also applied for the post before, and has interviewed with two other candidates, the AP reported.
The news comes after the U.S. economy contracted by 0.3 percent in the fourth quarter and the number of Americans without a job grew by nearly 3 million last month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Perry, who starred in the “Seinfeld” sitcoms “Selection Day” and “The Princess Bride,” also is considering a possible run for president in 2020, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
Perry recently released his memoir, “My Life,” and has written two feature films.
The president-elect and his wife, Melania, have been criticized for their lavish lifestyles, including a recent trip to Las Vegas where they spent $40 million on a hotel and a $5 million yacht.
