IR auditions trigger meme as they trigger a fake Instagram account
A viral account has been set up to lure women into auditions for a fake YouTube channel.
The account, called ‘TheAuditionTriggers’ was set up by an anonymous user who claimed to be the CEO of the company behind the account, which has since been deleted.
In an Instagram post, the user posted an advert for the auditions and invited the ‘audition triggers’ to submit their personal details for consideration.
The ‘auditions’ had the option to submit an online bio and photos and to have the videos recorded on camera and uploaded to YouTube.
However, they were then told that the videos would be used for marketing purposes and could not be uploaded to the channel.
It is unclear if the videos will be used to promote the channel or if the auditors will be asked to ‘do their jobs’.
A representative from YouTube told TechCrunch: “We’re currently looking into the incident and will be working closely with the account owners to get the video removed.”
