Which actors are auditioning for roles in ‘Daredevil’?
The New York Times is reporting that actor Calum Scott is in talks to play Daredevil in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film.
Scott, who has played the title character in various films and TV series, is in negotiations to play the titular character, who first appeared in Daredevil #10, in the new movie, which opens in theaters July 13.
Scott will be seen as the father of the young Daredevil who was created by writer Brian Michael Bendis.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed to The Times that Scott is “on board” for the film, which is being produced by Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. and stars Charlie Cox, Karen Page, Charlie Cox’s daughter, and more.
Marvel also has the rights to the Daredevil character, which was created and illustrated by the late Stan Lee.
It’s not clear if Scott will play the character in the film.
Marvel has already cast actors in roles that could appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In May, James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy, signed on to play Thanos in the Avengers: Infinity War film.
In the comics, Thanos was a villain who used the power of the Tesseract to steal the Infinity Stones from Earth and used them to bring about the End Times.
Scott is the latest actor to sign on to appear in a Marvel film.
Jason Statham signed on for Thor: Ragnarok, which hits theaters on November 3.
He previously starred in the indie horror film A Simple Day’s Dream, which received mixed reviews from critics.
